This month, Ed and I are taking a cruise with our neighbors.  My parents will be watching the boys and we know that they will be in good hands.  People have asked us if we feel comfortable leaving the boys for the weekend.  We say, “absolutely!”  One we especially feel safe because they are staying with the parents at our house but also because we know this is something that is important for our marriage.  In a previous blog, I spoke about how Ed also needed more of my attention and this is a way for us to have devoted time to our marriage.  In that same post, I spoke about letting my guard down and this is another way that I can let it down the most I can possible.  I will still think of them and will be praying they are doing well but I will relax.  I will enjoy myself and I will commit to having a blast with my husband and dear friends.

I think it is imperative to have fun through all of this.  I think it is important to allow ourselves to be a little selfish and do something for us.  It has taken time for us to get to this point but I am excited for the experience.  I look at how life is unexpected and it is important to live life the way you need to and to have fun.

My husband and I work hard and have demanding jobs.  This is a way for us to be able to set time a part from work and focus.  We can focus on our commitment of our relationship and refuel for the New Year.  I look forward to this trip and how a short three night cruise will rejuvenate us for the months to come.
