There are times you see stories on Facebook and you question, “did that really happen?” I thought this the first time I read the story “Dear Daddy Seat 16c.” Well Ed and I had our very own special story that will make you say, “wow, that is awesome or did that really happen!” When we traveled to Disney for the first time in 2015,  you can imagine I was a nervous wreck to have Dom fly for the first time. We did all the previewing possible and we talked and talked about it. Then the day came and we were at the airport. We sat and waited for our plane and a man sat behind Dom and I in the waiting area. Dom asked me, “is the plane here?” He asked me this quietly three times and the man rolled his eyes and moved seats. If you know me, you know this crushed me. Then a family came and sat across from us. I remember praying to God and saying, “please God, I cannot have them annoyed today. He (Dom) is being so good. I need strength.” God listened to my prayers. Little did I know angels were sitting in front of me. We made small talk with this family and I was amazed by the woman knitting this beautiful blanket. I complimented her and said how lovely it was. We said our well wishes and got on our plane to Disney. Dom did terrific. We had a fabulous week and were back at the airport. I prayed again, “God, can he do the same on the way back?” After my silent prayer, arrived our angels again, the ones from the airport in Dayton. Could it be they are on our flight on the way back!?! They approached us and asked how our trip was and I will never forget, when the lady asked if I would like her to knit Dom a blanket. She said she noticed I used blankets to help him. I was shocked, she was reaching out, she was accepting, she was understanding, she didn’t even know me and she was offering a gift. She will never fully know how much this experience meant to me, she will never know how she relaxed me completely but she will know how much I will never forget her. Thank you for the most beautiful blankets you made for our boys and I wear my scarf almost every day. I truly can not express into words how much your act of kindness and support helped me that day and other days. I truly appreciate you and wanted to share this picture of Dom going to bed tonight getting tucked in with one of his favorite blankets.
